Double Bill: Her Sungim & Léa Tirabasso
We live surrounded by too much.
An endless stream of information and noise, relationships and choices, things we must do, and people we are expected to become. As we struggle to keep up with it all, we gradually lose touch with our own bodies and minds. A Movement of Nothing begins at a moment when so much has passed that it becomes difficult to distinguish what truly matters. It is not movement intended to achieve something, but a moment when the body rediscovers its own existence as everything else fades away.
The body embraces its own weight and gravity, swaying, hesitating, and gradually finding its balance again. A weight too heavy to bear alone is shared with another body, and one person’s swaying sets another in motion.
Individual movements become connections, and those connections merge into a single flow. As we take on and support each other's weight, if only for a moment, we discover a way of living not in perfect balance, but by swaying together.
Perhaps the smallest movement is the faintest sign that we are still alive.
In the Beginning Was the Bliss explores the growth of a human community from nothingness to collective euphoria. Bodies coming from the floor, standing up until they're bouncing, lifting.
Up until... they're on the edge again.

Fascinated by the dynamism and energy of the body, Her Sungim has focused on the expressive power of dance. Working primarily in Belgium and the UK, she has created choreographic works including NUTCRUSHER, W.A.Y, Everything Falls Dramatic, and 1 Degree Celsius. Named as one of ten "Stage sensations to watch out for in 2023" by The Guardian, she has presented her work internationally in countries including the Netherlands, Turkey, Luxembourg, Spain, France, the United States, and South Korea. From 2023 to 2025, she served as an associate artist at the Seoul Performing Arts Festival (SPAF). She currently serves as the artistic director of HER Project and a core artist with Needcompany in Belgium.
Léa Tirabasso explores the body as a site of instinct, tension, and transformation, using dance to question the vulnerability and brutality of our human condition. As a dancer, she worked amongst other choreographers as a company member at the Staatstheater Kassel in Germany from 2011 to 2013. Her choreographic works include Love Me Tender, TOYS, The Ephemeral Life of an Octopus (Selected for Aerowaves Twenty20), and In the Bushes. Her works have been presented internationally at venues and festivals including Tanzmesse Düsseldorf, the Festival d’Avignon (Les Hivernales - CDCN d’Avignon), the Seoul International Dance Festival, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Beyond choreography, she has worked as a dramaturg and mentor for various international choreographic projects.
